Help reduce oil vapor buildup in the intake system of your 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma 3.5L with the J&L Oil Separator 3.0 Driver Side, part number JLT3104D-B. During normal crankcase ventilation, oil vapor can travel through the PCV system and collect in the intake tube, intake manifold runners, and combustion system. This effect can be more pronounced in engines operating under increased crankcase pressure. The J&L separator is designed to intercept these vapors before they continue through the intake tract, helping maintain a cleaner air path.
The separator is machined from solid billet aluminum for durable performance and features a black anodized finish. Its removable, knurled tank base simplifies draining, while the integrated O-ring seal helps provide a secure, leak-resistant fit. The compact reservoir holds up to 3 fluid ounces of collected oil and should be checked and drained regularly as part of routine vehicle maintenance. J&L recommends servicing the separator approximately every 2,000 to 3,000 miles, depending on driving conditions and engine operation.
A multistage filtration system combines a fine stainless steel mesh screen with an aluminum honeycomb filter. The mesh captures fine oil vapor particles, allowing them to condense and fall into the removable collection chamber. The honeycomb media further encourages vapor separation so heavier oil remains in the separator while cleaner air continues toward the intake. This driver-side oil separator is designed specifically for compatible 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma models equipped with the 3.5L engine. Professional installation and periodic inspection are recommended.
