The J&L JLT3117P-C Oil Separator 3.0 is designed for the passenger side of compatible 2022-2024 Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 models with the 2.4L engine. During normal crankcase ventilation, oil vapor can travel back through the intake system, where it may collect in the intake tube and manifold runners or reduce fuel octane. This effect can be more pronounced on forced-induction engines, but an effective oil separator can help reduce the amount of oil entering the intake tract.
The J&L Oil Separator 3.0 uses a solid billet aluminum body with a clear anodized finish for durable performance and a clean appearance. Its removable, knurled tank base simplifies draining, while the O-ring seal helps prevent leaks. The compact reservoir holds up to 3 fluid ounces and can be emptied during routine maintenance to help keep the PCV system operating cleanly.
A multistage filtration system captures fine oil vapors while allowing cleaned air to continue through the intake. A fine stainless steel mesh screen initially traps suspended vapor, and a 1/2-inch-thick aluminum honeycomb filter encourages the collected oil to combine into heavier droplets. The oil then falls into the removable bottom rather than continuing into the intake system. J&L recommends checking and draining the separator approximately every 2,000 to 3,000 miles, depending on driving conditions and engine behavior.

Eligibility
