The J&L JLT3113P-B 3.0 Oil Separator is designed for the passenger side of 2022-2026 Nissan Frontier models equipped with the 3.8L V6 engine. During normal operation, crankcase vapors can carry oil into the intake tube and manifold runners, where buildup may reduce intake efficiency and potentially lower fuel octane. This risk can increase in forced-induction applications, but an oil separator can help reduce the amount of oil vapor entering the intake system.
The J&L oil separator features solid billet aluminum construction for dependable durability and a black anodized finish for corrosion resistance. Its knurled tank base allows convenient removal when draining collected oil, while the integrated O-ring seal helps prevent leaks. The removable reservoir provides a practical way to monitor and service the system during routine maintenance.
A multistage filtration system combines a fine stainless steel mesh screen with an aluminum honeycomb filter. The screen captures fine oil vapors, allowing them to condense and fall into the lower reservoir, while the honeycomb stage promotes additional separation before the air continues through the intake tract. With a 3-ounce collection capacity, the separator is intended to be checked and drained regularly, typically every 2,000 to 3,000 miles depending on driving conditions and engine operation.
