The J&L JLT3053P-B Oil Separator 3.0 helps reduce the amount of oil vapor and contaminants routed through the crankcase ventilation system of your 2016-2019 Ford Escape 1.5L EcoBoost. During normal engine operation, crankcase vapors can carry oil into the intake tube and manifold, where buildup may reduce intake cleanliness and dilute the fuel mixture. These effects can be more pronounced on turbocharged engines because of increased crankcase pressure. Installed on the passenger side, this J&L oil separator captures suspended oil before it reaches the intake system.
The separator uses a multistage filtration design to collect fine oil vapors while allowing cleaned air to continue through the PCV system. A fine stainless steel mesh screen traps vapor particles, and the aluminum honeycomb filter encourages the collected oil to combine into heavier droplets that fall into the removable reservoir. This design helps prevent captured oil from being carried back into the intake. The reservoir holds up to 3 fluid ounces and can be drained during routine maintenance, with recommended service intervals of approximately 2,000 to 3,000 miles depending on driving conditions.
Constructed from solid billet aluminum, the J&L JLT3053P-B is built for long-term durability and finished with a black anodized coating. The knurled reservoir base supports easy removal, while the O-ring seal helps prevent leaks. Quick-connect PCV fittings simplify installation and provide a secure connection for the factory ventilation lines. This oil separator is designed specifically for the 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 Ford Escape equipped with the 1.5L EcoBoost engine. Professional installation or inspection is recommended to verify proper fitment and routing before use.
