Designed for driver-side installation, this black anodized separator helps capture oil vapor from the crankcase ventilation system before it can accumulate in the intake tube, intake manifold runners, or dilute the fuel mixture. This can be especially beneficial on forced-induction engines, where elevated crankcase pressure may increase the amount of oil vapor entering the intake tract.
The J&L Oil Separator 3.0 features a solid billet aluminum body engineered for durability and dependable service. Its multistage filtration system uses a fine stainless steel mesh screen to trap suspended oil vapor, followed by an aluminum honeycomb filter that encourages vapor to condense into heavier droplets. The collected oil falls into the removable reservoir while cleaner air continues through the PCV system. Quick-connect PCV fittings support a straightforward installation, and the knurled tank base allows convenient removal for draining.
The reservoir holds approximately 3 fluid ounces and includes an O-ring seal to help prevent leaks. For continued performance, J&L recommends inspecting and draining the separator every 2,000 to 3,000 miles, although service intervals may vary according to driving conditions and engine operation.
