The J&L JLT3021F-B Oil Separator 3.0 is designed for the front PCV system on 2013-2018 Ford Focus ST models. During normal crankcase ventilation, oil-laden vapors can travel through the intake tube and manifold, where they may contribute to deposits and reduce intake air quality. These vapors can be more prevalent in forced-induction applications because increased crankcase pressure pushes more contaminants through the PCV system. This J&L oil separator helps intercept those vapors before they reach the intake tract.
The separator is machined from solid billet aluminum for dependable strength and finished in black anodizing for added durability. Its knurled tank base allows easy removal for draining, while the O-ring seal helps provide a secure, leak-resistant connection. The compact design integrates into the vehicle’s PCV system without requiring direct listing of product dimensions, making it a practical upgrade for routine maintenance and intake system protection.
Inside, the multistage filtration system uses a fine stainless steel mesh screen to capture suspended oil vapor. As the collected particles become heavier, they fall into the removable lower reservoir. A 1/2-inch-thick aluminum honeycomb filter further separates the vapor, encouraging oil to condense and collect instead of continuing toward the intake. Cleaned air is then allowed to pass through the system. The reservoir holds up to 3 fluid ounces and should be inspected and drained regularly, with service commonly performed every 2,000 to 3,000 miles depending on driving conditions.
Designed specifically for the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 Ford Focus ST, the J&L JLT3021F-B provides a durable solution for managing oil vapor in the PCV system.
