The J&L 3.0 Passenger-Side Oil Separator, part number JLT3018P-B, is designed for 1999-2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra models and 2003-2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 applications. During crankcase ventilation, oil-laden vapors can travel through the intake tube and manifold runners, where they may contribute to carbon buildup and reduce fuel octane. These effects can be more pronounced on supercharged and turbocharged engines because of increased crankcase pressure. The black anodized J&L oil separator helps reduce the amount of oil vapor reaching the intake system while allowing cleaned air to continue through the PCV circuit.
Constructed from solid billet aluminum, the J&L JLT3018P-B is built for durability and repeated service. Its knurled tank base provides a secure grip for easy removal when draining collected oil, while the O-ring seal helps prevent leaks. The compact reservoir holds up to 3 fluid ounces, offering practical capacity for routine maintenance without unnecessary bulk in the engine compartment.
The multistage filtration system combines a fine stainless steel mesh screen with an aluminum honeycomb filter. The mesh captures fine oil vapor particles, allowing them to combine and fall into the removable lower tank once they become heavy enough. The honeycomb stage further promotes vapor condensation and separation, helping prevent oil from being carried into the intake. For best results, inspect and drain the separator every 2,000 to 3,000 miles or according to your vehicle’s operating conditions. This J&L oil separator is intended for automotive use and is not CARB approved.
