The J&L 3.0 Oil Separator, part number JLT3025P-B, helps protect the intake system of compatible 2015-2026 Ford Transit 150, Transit 250, and Transit 350 models equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. During normal crankcase ventilation, oil vapor can travel through the PCV system and collect inside the intake tube, manifold runners, and other components. This buildup can reduce intake cleanliness and may dilute fuel vapor, affecting effective octane levels. The issue can be more pronounced on turbocharged and supercharged engines where crankcase pressure is increased.
Designed for passenger-side installation, this J&L oil separator is milled from solid billet aluminum for durable, long-term service. The knurled tank base allows easy removal when draining collected oil, while the integrated O-ring seal helps prevent leaks. Its black anodized finish adds corrosion resistance and a clean appearance within the engine compartment. Quick-connect PCV fittings simplify installation and maintain a secure connection to the factory ventilation system.
The multistage filtration system uses a fine stainless steel mesh screen to capture small oil vapors and allow them to condense. Collected oil then passes into an aluminum honeycomb filter, where additional surface area encourages heavier particles to separate from the airflow and fall into the removable reservoir. Cleaned air continues through the PCV system toward the intake, helping reduce oil contamination without restricting normal ventilation. The reservoir holds approximately 3 fluid ounces and should be inspected and drained regularly, typically every 2,000 to 3,000 miles depending on driving conditions and engine operation.
