At the core of the system is HKS’s signature Super Lip Funnel, which maximizes intake efficiency within the confined engine bay space of the R33. The funnel is rigidly mounted to a black anodized aluminum back plate, improving durability while providing a clean, motorsport-inspired appearance. Vehicle-specific suction piping further enhances airflow by reducing internal turbulence caused by corrugated factory hoses, delivering smoother, more efficient air delivery to the turbochargers.
The Racing Suction system utilizes a wet two-layer polyurethane filter element treated with a high-viscosity adhesive to balance high airflow with effective filtration. A lightweight, streamlined inner frame with parabolically placed supports promotes smooth airflow through the filter, while the redesigned frame support improves filter serviceability. Designed for direct mounting from the filter to the compressor inlet, this intake system significantly improves throttle response and overall induction performance. For optimal results, HKS recommends pairing this intake with complementary exhaust upgrades and proper engine tuning.
