Upgrade the rear braking performance of your 2006-2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty 2WD with EBC ED91778 Extra Duty Brake Pads. Developed at EBC Brakes’ UK EFI Bristol factory, these carbon granule-based pads deliver strong, consistent friction from a cold start while maintaining street-friendly braking manners. Their broad operating range makes them well suited for daily driving, towing, heavy loads, and demanding downhill descents.
The race-derived friction material is designed to provide effective stopping performance at temperatures exceeding 1,400°F, offering dependable control during severe braking conditions. Extensive winter testing in Ohio demonstrated strong cold-weather braking in wet and freezing conditions where many performance-oriented compounds may take longer to develop effective friction. This combination of cold bite, high-temperature capability, and predictable pedal response makes the Extra Duty compound a practical choice for light-truck applications.
EBC ED91778 pads are formulated to be rotor friendly, produce minimal dust, and operate quietly. Each set includes NUCAP piston insert shims to help reduce noise and support smooth, refined operation. The pads are vented and use the FMSI D1068 pad profile for compatible applications. Verify vehicle configuration and existing brake hardware before installation.
