Product Description
The CARDONE 27-7589 Remanufactured Steering Gear is engineered to restore confident, OE-style steering control on late-1990s through mid-2000s GM heavy-duty trucks and SUVs. Serving as the core of the steering system, this gear box converts steering wheel input into precise front-wheel movement, delivering stable handling under load, while towing, or in everyday driving.
Each 27-7589 unit is completely remanufactured and 100% hydraulically tested to verify proper fluid flow, internal pressure, leakage control, and steering effort. All internal O-rings and lip seals are replaced with brand-new components to ensure long-term, leak-free performance. Shafts are resurfaced to precise tolerances to help prevent premature seal wear and extend service life.
The housing is treated with CARDONE’s rust-inhibitive Cool Dip finish, a penetrating protective coating that evenly covers all exposed surfaces and resists cracking, flaking, and peeling. Designed as a remanufactured original equipment steering gear, the 27-7589 provides a direct bolt-on fit for specified Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 Classic, 1500 HD, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500, Suburban 2500, and Yukon XL 2500 applications that use a 33-spline sector shaft with 3 blanks.
CARDONE’s environmentally responsible remanufacturing process helps reduce raw material consumption and energy usage by up to 80% compared to manufacturing an all-new steering gear.
