Product Description
The CARDONE 27-7540 Remanufactured Steering Gear is engineered to restore precise steering feel and OE-style control on a wide range of GM full-size trucks and SUVs, including C/K 1500 & 2500, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade models. As the core of the steering system, this gear box converts steering wheel input into accurate front-wheel response, resulting in confident, predictable handling.
Each 27-7540 unit is fully remanufactured and 100% hydraulically tested to verify proper fluid flow, pressure, leakage control, and steering effort. All O-rings and lip seals are replaced with brand-new components to deliver long-lasting, leak-free performance. Input and output shafts are resurfaced to precise specifications to help prevent premature seal wear and extend service life.
The housing is treated with CARDONE’s rust-inhibitive Cool Dip finish, a penetrating coating that covers all exposed surfaces for excellent corrosion resistance and durability without cracking, flaking, or peeling. Built as a remanufactured OE steering gear, the 27-7540 provides a direct, bolt-on fit and OE-level function on specified Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs, as well as the 1999–2000 Cadillac Escalade.
CARDONE’s eco-conscious remanufacturing process can reduce raw material usage and energy consumption by up to 80% compared to producing a brand-new steering gear.
